Visitation Information:
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24, from 3:00-9:00 PM at the Roth-Muir Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, at 1:00PM at the Roth-Muir Funeral Home (296 S. Main St. – Romeo, MI 48065) with Pastor Larry of Hometown Hospice, officiating. Burial will be made at Romeo Cemetery.

Obituary:
Philip Henry Johnson, age 98, a long time resident of Romeo, passed away peacefully at his son’s home on November 22, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born January 29, 1915 in West Lorne, Ontario the son of Charles and Mary Jane (Mumford) Johnson. Philip served his country in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He participated in the European-African Middle East Theatre where he received 3 Bronze Battle Stars and was a Prisoner of War. He married Kathleen Baleka on December 12, 1938. Philip owned his own farm and owned and operated with his beloved wife, Kay’s Pizza in Romeo from 1966 until 1987.
He is survived by his beloved children James (Darlene) Johnson of Lapeer, Robert (Linda) Johnson of Imlay City, Ronald (Margaret) Johnson of Lapeer, Michael Johnson of Romeo, Joyce Johnson of Capac, eleven grandchildren
and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kay, and beloved sons William and Carl.

Our prayers are with you all. I will always remember the times I came to town and stopped to visit Mike and Mr. Johnson. He always had good stories to tell especially the one about tipping his hat to ladies.
